It is not difficult for a researcher to find information about the actions of American soldiers or ambulance drivers during the First World War. Finding what life was like in small town America is a much more difficult task. Drawing upon sources from the archives of the Lenawee County Historical Society, Jan Richardi recounts what the 19 months of War were like in Lenawee County. Topics include the Red Cross activities, Liberty Drives, and entertainment around Lenawee.
Jan Richardi, who holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of North Carolina, is a past president of the Lenawee County Historical Society.
